Explore Unknown Treks in Coorg or Popularly known as Scotland of India. Galibeedu is one such trek where one can experience serene beauty with showers of rain covered with fog and thick forest trail.

Breathtaking view of water-stream.

Hello Guys this is my first blog where I am going to share my Trek experience along with details of how to reach the trek place so that everyone gets an opportunity to experience natures Beauty.

Trek Details:

1. Location- Coorg( Madikeri District) - 270km approx from Bangalore.

2. Best Route from Bangalore: Bangalore- Mandya- Srirangapatna- Kushalnagara- Madikeri- Galibeedu.

3. Trek length: 12-14 km approx( Easy- Moderate)

Trek Journey begins..........

Trek trail starts fro here.. Initially we will be crossing 2 streams and then enter into thick forest.

Initially for 500 meters we will be walking along tar road then we will enter into the forest. After few minutes of walk we will be crossing 2 water streams, and then we will be entering into Dense forest. One must be aware of Leeches since its monsoon and lots of leeches will be around. One must not panic if they see leech on their leg rather you must just flick it like a carom board coin. Prior to trek to avoid leeches you can apply salt on your shoes or else use a Leech free socks. Avoid standing in a place for long time as it will allow the leeches to climb onto your feet easily, so keep walking.

This is the view you will get once you have completed around 4 km of trek. It's a beautiful view and one can relax here having some snacks and enjoy the view point.

Here is a glimpse of few snapshots which I took along the trek trail.

After around 4 hrs of trekking we reached the peak which was amazing view, and we all removed our shoes and checked if any leeches crawled into our shoes and to our bad luck we found at least few leeches already in our shoes. We cleaned our feet with Dettol and washed our hands.

We were all tired and hungry, so we took out our lunch which we had packed from home stay, and started to have it. once we finished our lunch we sat for sometime and were enjoying the view and after 30 min we decided to head back to base point which was another 6 km trek.

We reached back our home stay by around 6 Pm. It was a wonderful trek and enjoyed it a lot. Hope you guys make yourself free and do Travel Here.
